our mission

syracuse herbal study group is dedicated to offering an affordable, accessible and reliable education in plant medicine while building community across cultures and enhancing the well-being of our CNY neighborhoods. In addition, we aim to create a platform for ongoing work towards the conservation of native plant species while strengthening the human relationship with the natural world.

that our work is done on the ancestral lands of the Onondaga people, fire keepers of the Six Nations of the Haudenosaunee. We stand in support, allyship and partnership with the Onondaga Nation and work to uphold the principles of the Two Row Wampum.

Since 2018, Syracuse Herbal Study Group has been proud to offer monthly classes in herbal medicine to the Central New York community. In the Fall, Winter and Spring, study group holds discussion-based classes indoors and in the Summer, we host monthly plant walks at various locations around our area. We invite anyone and everyone to join us - classes are also available through our livestream or as a recording, so never worry about missing a class.
